About the course

This course introduces you to mental health, helping you recognize issues in individuals and understand the mental health needs of communities. By the end, you’ll be able to:

  • Identify key symptoms of mental disorders.
  • Respond appropriately to individuals showing symptoms of mental health challenges.
  • Refer people with potential mental health disorders to the right services.
  • Offer basic support to individuals and their families affected by mental health disorders.
  • Promote mental health awareness within your community.

Note: This course does not train participants to become mental health practitioners. Further training is required.

Course Structure: The course is 8-10 hours long and covers essential mental health concepts, including the history of psychiatry, case history taking, and common disorders like Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. You’ll also learn about basic approaches to treating mental disorders. Sessions will include video lessons, presentations, and interactive group discussions.
